Yes. In order to volunteer at Broward Children’s Center, you must complete the Volunteer Application in addition to completing other requirements listed in Volunteer Procedures.
All required documents should be emailed to volunteer@bcckids.org or faxed to 954-943-2267, attention: Volunteer Coordinator.
Once you submit your completed Volunteer Application you will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator to schedule an interview, review the required documents, and take a tour of the program.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent.
Yes. All volunteers working individually and directly with the children/young adults served in our programs must undergo a background screening and have a physical conducted.
Yes. All volunteers over the age of 16, must undergo a Level II Background Screening and Physical at their own expense.
Yes. All applicable fees are the responsibility of the volunteer.
Broward Children’s Center has a wide variety of volunteer opportunities to meet everyone’s interests, skills and schedule.
These include: Becoming a member of one of our committees, special event volunteers, helping with maintenance & beautification projects, working directly with our infants, children and young adults, assisting with administrative tasks, hosting a fundraiser or organizing a toy, food or clothing drive.
Broward Children’s Center offers flexible volunteer schedules. Volunteer Hours available:
Monday thru Friday – 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday – 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Once all the required paperwork is complete, a volunteer is required to attend an orientation with the Volunteer Coordinator to review the organization’s policies and procedures.
Once you have been approved, you will be given the contact information or one of our Recreational Therapists or Preschool Directors. You will be required to email them and must receive confirmation of your volunteer time and
date. No volunteer should show up unscheduled and/or without confirmation.
Broward Children’s Center’s Volunteer Coordinator will be happy to track and sign for student service hours required by the Broward County School District and/or other educational programs.
Broward Children’s Center welcomes your support by hosting a personal fundraiser. All fundraisers must be approved by our Development Department to ensure that they comply with our mission and guidelines.
Development Department staff will work closely with you to ensure a successful fundraiser.
Broward Children’s Center encourages ideas from students and members of the community. All DIY projects should be submitted in writing to the Volunteer Coordinator.
